Baked Tempeh Buffalo Bites

A great little plant-based snack to serve at your next party. Simple to prepare and baked instead of fried, these little bites are ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 package tempeh
  • 1/2-1 cup hot wing sauce check ingredients for dairy
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Slice tempeh into bit-sized pieces
  3. Pour hot wing sauce into a bowl and add tempeh. Stir to coat.
  4. Dip coated bites into panko bread crumbs and roll and press crumbs into tempeh until completely covered. 

  5. Place buffalo bites on baking pan covered with silicone sheet or parchment paper. Bake for 10 minutes.
  6. Carefully flip bites over and drizzle with hot wing sauce. Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until nicely browned and crispy.

  7. Serve warm with vegan ranch dressing (recipe in notes below).

Recipe Notes

Vegan Ranch Dressing (note- this is not fat-free)

1/4 cup plant milk (almond, soy, oat, etc)
1/4 cup Just Mayo (other other vegan mayonnaise)
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon fresh parsley, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl and whisk to combine.  Chill.
