Do you love making desserts and snacks with apples, but don’t love how much time it takes to peel and slice them? Well, this nifty little gadget peels, cores, and slices your apples all at the same time! It saves a ton of time and can be used for potatoes and pears too!
How does it work?
Step one – Using the little lever on the bottom, suction the gadget to the counter top or table. Make sure it’s really stuck-on so you don’t have to worry about it moving later one when you’re working with the apples.
Step two – Remove protective plastic cover from the three prongs. Be care, those little things are pretty sharp.
Step three – Place the apple (or potato or pear) on the prongs. You can put either end on the prongs – I chose the stem end this time. Center it as best you can so the core will be removed completely. If you get it on there crooked, you’ll have to dig out core later. I know this from experience. 😉 Push the fruit gently, but firmly until it’s seated clear up against the base of the prongs.
Step four – Start turning the handle and the apple will move towards the sharp round blade. Then watch the magic happen!
The finished product!
Once the peeling is done, remove the apple from the core. Simple as pie!
Look at this beautiful, sliced, peeled, cored apple! 💗 And it took less than a minute – whoop, whoop! Once you slice your apples, you’re ready to add a few spices for a yummy Apple Crisp.
Where can I get one!?!
I bought mine on Amazon (of course), but you can also find similar gadgets at Bed, Bath & Beyond and Williams Sonoma. I do suggest purchasing one with all metal parts. I’ve read not so great reviews on the products that use plastic.
If you splurge (they aren’t actually very expensive) and get one of these apple gadgets, let me know how you like it! A shout-out to my little sister, Jodi who introduced me to it a few years ago. 💚 I love gadgets and gizmos that make life easier!!
I have one from Pampered Chef that I received for a bridal shower gift over twenty years ago. I have not used it since we moved a couple of years ago. It is time to dig it out and use it again.
Yes, you should! 😊 They are the easiest little gadgets and so helpful. I need to try potatoes in mine. It would be such an easy way to make scalloped potatoes!
