These plant-based donut holes are simple to make with ingredients you have on hand. They are healthier than a typical fried donut and will help to satisfy your donut craving. You can also make these in a regular oven (see notes below).
Combine dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, salt.
Use a pastry cutter or fork to cut the 4 tbsp of buttery spread into the flour mixture until well combined.
Stir milk into the flour. When it becomes too difficult to stir, use your hands to knead the dough into a ball.
Pinch-off pieces of the dough and roll into (24-30) little balls.
Heat your air-fryer to 350 degrees. You can spray the basket slightly with oil, but it isn't required.
Combine powered sugar with water in a bowl to make a glaze. You can add cinnamon if you prefer a cinnamony glaze.
Place balls into basket a few (6-8) at a time. Make sure they have room to rise.
Air-fry for 5 minutes. Check after 4 minutes to be sure they aren't getting too brown.
When they are done, remove them from the fryer and let them cool slightly. Then spoon the glaze over them and place them on a rack covered with parchment paper.
Enjoy!
